Step-by-step: study in Latvia

Required Documents for Visa (For Nepalese Students):

  1. Visa application form (National Visa Type D)
  2. Passport with at least two blank pages and valid for 3 months after departure.
  3. One recent 35x45mm photo.
  4. Invitation from your university approved by the OCMA.
  5. Signed Study Agreement.
  6. Proof of Accommodation: University dormitory confirmation or a notarized rental agreement.
  7. Proof of Financial Means: A bank statement showing sufficient funds (approx. €620/month is recommended).
  8. Travel Health Insurance:



The visa process for Nepal has specific requirements. As a Nepalese national, you must apply for a Long Stay Visa at the Embassy of Latvia in India.

Here is the specific process:

  1. Verify Document Verification: This is mandatory for applicants from Nepal, India, and Sri Lanka. You must upload your supporting documents to the Hello Verify website (http://visa.helloverify.com) for verification. You will receive a transaction number upon successful verification. An appointment for your visa application will NOT be granted without this number.
  2. Book a VFS Global Appointment: Contact the VFS Global Latvia call centre to book an appointment for visa application submission and a mandatory video/in-person interview at the VFS Global centre in India.
  3. Submit Your Application: Attend your appointment at the VFS Global Latvia centre. Submit your visa application form, the Hello Verify transaction number, and all required documents.
